Im so bad at latin names, confuses me

I always try to use scientific names where ever I can. There are so many conflicting 'common names', that I actually find the 'latin' less confusing.

what is the latin name for the check garters? Least thats what i think i have. Il try and remember it, but im a bit dizzy ha ha

Like James, I prefer using the scientific names, just to avoid all the hundreds of trivial (common) names. Most of the names, including "Thamnophis", are actually Greek, not Latin, so it's best to use the term "scientific name".
