all gifts are wraped but I´ll have to start coocking soon, thgere are only 8 hours left until dinner.

You have your big meal tonight? We used to have potato salad, "Seidenwuerstchen" und "Butterbrot" on Christmas eve, then went to the evening service and had "Bescherung" afterwards. The big meal we'd have on Christmas day. Actually, I don't know why I'm talking in the past, we still do that, apart from the food on Christmas eve, we just tend to have something simple.

it's always a bit sad for me, because I'm still attached to how magical and meaningful it was when I was a child
I don't seem to be able to recreate that on my own
so now it's all about the food - tomorrow
that goose, stuffed with apples and chestnuts, is the one thing left - even the side dishes are different
you did give me a little flavour of the spirit though

We cheated and started early- had a big dinner last night at my in-laws. I like to keep the holiday festivities going as long as possible!

we´re goinig to have a big meal today after the "Bescherung", tomorow after a visit in the Church together with some friends and the day after tomorrow on a familiy meeting in the "Eifel"
