    Radixs on Roids?

Well, it's not Roids. It must be genetics.
The first picture is a group(all similar size) of 9 month old radixs. The second photo is from a group of 10 month olds. All are feed the same way and the same food. All suppliments are the same. Enclosure size and heat source are the same. They all get the same amount of interaction and handling.
The mothers(WC) are approximately the same size and the clutch size was the same. Unknown info. about the fathers. The larger group have been larger from birth. The larger ones have been very docile and show very little startle responce. The mother to the larger group has a very distinctive facial feature in that her snout is more flat then any other Radixs I have every seen. All of her babies carry this same feature. I find it very interesting that the genetics of the parents have given the larger group such a jump start on reaching adulthood. I've never had a group of babies show such growth before.

Those are some big Radix for the age.

My 2 radix girls are substantially larger than my albino, The albino was a non feeding runt, He started on tiny froglets, then live minnows and now cut pinky and tilapia.

His growth rate has been a lot slower than the ladies who have been on whole pinks for a couple months now.

The larger one (in the first pic) is a lovely looking animal, Steve. There does seem to be a marked difference in growth rates of litters from different females of the same species, not only in radix. I guess it's genetic.

    James,
The female of the large ones has a bloch mark on her back where the color is much lighter. It almost looks like the color was bleached out. We call her "Spot". I'm waiting until the babies mature to see if any have the same mark. Not sure if it was genetic or something else. This larger group is the most social group I've ever had. They all want to be held and once they are held they are calm and content to sit with you for hours. Just finished feeding all the babies there Christmas meal and it was a riot. These little ones are so much fun

I might have figued out the mystery! The large snakes have a small dwarf fig tree in there enclosure. They must be digging in the dirt and eating the fertilizer
