Is this a male or female garter?

Can anyone tell me if this is a male or female garter? In time, we would like to introduce this snake to our 4-year old male Snakie, but we don't want any accidental babies. Thank you in advance.

Here's what I seeing. The tail stays wide for about 6 scales, that, and the overall thin body structure says male to me. I also see female characteristics in the tail. I'm on the fence with this on.
