    Caresheet For Ribbon-Snakes ?? & Recommended Books On Captive Keeping ??

    Hi, what things must be done different on the caresheet of a garter-snake if instead is actually keeped a ribbon-snake ??

    And what books in both english & german idioms are the most recommended for the captive keeping of the garter and ribbon snakes ??

    I think one big difference between the two is ribbons seem to be more of a specialized feeder. They can be trained to eat different prey items but scenting of prey seems to be necessary under most circumstances.
    The other difference seem to be attitude. Meaning ribbons are more jumpy and don't seem to calm down the way most other garters do.
    These are just my observations with the one ribbon(Gulf Coast ribbon- Thamnophis proximus orarius) I keep.
    I for one will be watching this thread for some of the other posts.
    I feel I have so much more I need to know about these wonderful garter snakes. I also hope to breed my big girl (Shyblue) someday.

    Hi Marnie, thanks for your reply. Just i had revised the link you added, i will take advice of this books. Also, i have the book "Garter and water snakes" by Perlowin, and just i had ordered this 2 books: ""Garter snakes" by Bartlett, and "Garter and ribbon snakes" by Purser. And i want more books with updated information about the captive keeping of the garter snakes.

    When you do visit Toluca you will find garter snakes from the borders of this city to beyond ! the garter snakes have healthy populations in these locations and in my own location too ! Thanks, regards.
