Finally!

The little western hognose snake I picked up at the show 8 MONTHS ago finally ate of his own will. I had been pinky pumping him for the past 2 months and he finally ate a pinkie that i offered him. Whenever I would offer him a pinky he would do his "I'm a big, bad puff adder/rattlesnake" routine without taking the pinky then try to get away.
I'm very relieved that he's eating on his own now.

It happened quite accidentally; I pulled him out to make sure he was still doing ok right after feeding my other snakes and had a couple extra pinks left over, so I held him next to the plate and he just grabbed at one and nommed it down, then a second, and he just ate a third today! I hope I can finally put away that vile pinky pump. I think he just got tired of having it shoved down his throat.
