Fish question

I'm about to go on a fishing trip to the lake, and it'd be great to get enough to keep my fish-loving snakes happy for a while!

Only problem is that there is a 'two meal per month' fish consumption advisory for humans in this area (like there is for most NC lakes... ). I'm leaning toward not doing this just because I'm paranoid, but I thought I'd ask what everyone on here thought about feeding fish from areas with consumption restrictions?

Smaller animal + comsumption restrictions for humans = higher risk to the snake.

That's what I figured, but the possibility of getting a ton of free snake food over one weekend was tempting enough that I had to ask for another opinion. There are so many garter and water snakes living in that area that the fish probably aren't terribly toxic, but better safe than sorry I guess...
It would've been nice though Our dock is right over a crappie breeding area, and it's not uncommon to catch around 50 in one day!

Which lake?

Kerr Resevoir, but everyone calls it Bugg's Island. It's near SouthBoston, VA. Have you ever been there?

OK, no I haven't. I was partly curious, but I also wanted to look it up for fish reasons.

The wild ones have no choice and no one to make a better decision for them.

Restrictions are imposed when the water is polluted.. I'd not risk it.
