    Cool New in the collection...

In about 2,5 months I get 1.1 Thamnophis melanogaster canescens, born in captivity in 2007.

And in 2008, if everything is going like planned I get 1.1 Thamnophis eques cuitzeoensis, captive bred in 2008.

    Both species are from Mexico.

One of the females T. m. canescens that is probably the mom of my new snakes...

And this a female T. e. cuitzeoensis that is going to produce the young in 2008...

Really nice, Fons. Great photos as well. Would you consider posting them in the care sheets? We're not getting photos of mexican species as yet .

    Very nice indeed.

Wasn't familiar with the T. e. cuitzoensis subspecies, though. I don't think it was in the Rossman et al. book.

Very cool, it's a shame that more of the Mexican species haven't been worked with here in the states.

The Rossman book it to old, it's a newly described species (2003 I believe). Don't forget the e "cuitzeoensis"

I'm also getting cuitzeoensis in 2008, probably from the same clutch as Fons.

I just copypasted that name, I refuse to take responsibility for any errors.

That book lacks several species and subspecies (tetrataenia, all radix subspecies, and many more), maybe we need a thread or wiki article listing the recognized species.
