    Not Red, But Not Orange

Here are a couple of radixes I'm raising. I can't call them red but then again I don't want to call them orange. In any event I love this phase. Mom and Dad were both high-red so maybe the color will change some as the mature. Breeding high-reds together doesn't give you a litter of red snakes. What you end up with if you're lucky, is a couple high-reds and a whole lot of variety from low red to orange. It is so neat to see them come out looking normal and then see the color come in as the grow and shed.

Thank you everyone. I love the surprises that come up on the Ranch. So much variety in T.radix - Plains garter.

Dude...Steve... What you have there are truly hypomelanistic radix. Those look just like pastel checkereds. That's a morph... Guaranteed.
