    Well look what i found..

Been walking through the woods lately hoping to find at least one garter. with the cold weather that has been here lately i wasn't expecting to find any, but today it was warmer than it has been in the past few days. Checked out my normal spots and found some adult slimy salamanders, some juvenile red-backed salamanders, skinks, and toads but no garters. Decided to go a different way out of the woods than the way i normally go because i was determined to find one. halfway to the exit I hear some rumbling in the leaves but didn't expect much, maybe just a skink or two running away from me. But whaddayaknow it was a little Eastern Garter snake! bagged it up and went back. When i got home I tried to feed it a toad and it tried to gobble it up right away! but as I went to take a second picture it got startled and spit it out. anway don't wanna bore you guys with a wall of text, here's some pictures of this new little guy.

I was trying to work out the second to last photo, then realised it was the garter vrs toad photo you mentioned.
Cool colours on him, very similar to my novice eye to a marcianus.

You are not boring us at all.
    Good looking snake.
Keep in mind that toads/frogs can carry a heavy parasite load.
The sooner you get the snake switched over to worms/mice/fish fillet the safer/better for it.
I like that piece of wood also.
