Restore Sharp Park for San Francisco Garter Snakes

Shouldnīt each thamnophile help this project?

Maybe thereīs little more possible than to join the Cause on Facebook!
    for most of us.
But I feel bewilderd that US residents must not keep this beautyful snake,
although the covernment does close to nothing to conservate the subspecy in itīs natural habitats!

I'll say this about golf courses anywhere - they're a scourge upon the environment

Re: Restore Sharp Park for San Francisco Garter Snakes

As so can read on www.isis.org , there are only 98 specimens of T.s.tetrataenia kept in zoos throughout the whole world, although the few German breeders (I know) breed about the same number each year.
Politicans seems to enjoy voting for restrictions but only talking about restoration and conservation.
We have excellent experiences in splitting interests: Itīs strictly forbidden to catch any ringed snake and quite common to protect and recreate habitats for them, but you can easily buy captive bred Natrix as well as breeding and selling the offspring again. You only have to register what youīve purchased and all sales at a local department.

Thanks for the heads up, Udo. I'm with Rhea on this one! Did you guys happen to follow some of the links and see this video... those of us in the US are practically never this close to one: http://media.causes.com/622874?s=cause

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

By the way, you wouldn't happen to have any articles on any Natrix habitat restoration projects?

One little disaster and they will be gone from the wild.

Well, San Francisco will wipe them out eventually.

If you protect their remaining habitat and if it doesn't change through natural succession, the land around it will still probably be developed causing the habitat to become fragmented and isolated, or the city will slowly but steadily chop it up and develop the area a few acres at a time, until there's nothing left worth protecting.
