    Wild Northwestern

Hi all, I'm pretty sure the garter in my back yard is northwestern, but anyway, how can I catch it? Currently, it lives under a hole that is beneath the cement block under the air-conditioning fan. I saw it a few years ago and didn't worry as it was a baby, but know it is at least 2-3 feet, and my sister (6 years old) is skittish of large snakes. Any ideas on how I can catch it? I of course don't want to kill it, I just want to relocate it as that crevice also contains large spiders and I want to close it up. Any ideas

Lay a board down or give it another place to hide.

Northwesterns don't get over 2 feet. Even getting close to two feet is kind of rare.

I didn't realize that they don't get over two feet.
Also, I meant how can I get it out of the crevice?

Maybe you can try to lure it out with some food. Like fish or worm.

You probably can't without possibly injuring/hurting it.
It's found a good home will use it for protection.
You'll just have to wait for it to come out.
Offering it a different place to be is still an option.
If your nights are getting cool/cold you could put a heating pad in a box/container and see if it will used it for a hide.
