Went from eating good to a hunger strike!

Well things were going good for a while and now not so good! My snake was eating fuzzies every week and slowly slowed down to eating nothing. Tried night crawlers and that failed. I will be releasing her as soon as the weather warms up. I will attatch a list of the feeding days and quantity for reference.

They do go off food from time to time. Good looking radi. You've done well.

It potentially could be the natural internal clock that garters have that tells them its time to brumate. The other possibilities would be to triple check your husbandry, temperatures, etc. Look for signs of illness and or injuries also. Good luck..

I was worried about it going off of food in the fall. Never thouht that would happen close to spring.

I will try another fuzzy in the next couple days. The snake is very active and shows no signs of illness. One thing I noticed is that it wants out of the enclosure and is always looking for a way out. That behaviour started about 2-3 months ago.

. Certainly if the reptile is wild caught and has recently been subjected to captivity his internal clock can be offset by the stress. If he's a male and is sensing it's time to breed will also throw off his feeding response. Consider feeding pinky rats over fuzzies bc of the fur on the fuzzies. Hairless hoppers would be the other choice in rodents.
