    Old Girls Gone.

I week or so ago I posted a thread introducing to you our dog Alexis Rose Gilfillan. She turned 16 on Oct.1st this year. Today a 0645 I had her put down. For the last 3 days she had been suffering with some sort of pain in her back and neck. She was on some powerful pain meds and as the last 3 days played out the meds. weren't helping. Very early this morning after a number of meds I came to the conclusion that her suffering had to stop. She looked at me to help her. I have had her since she was a pup and I will never be able to replace her. She was my once in a lifetime dog. My 5 kids and I are struggling but will be okay. She was my best friend and constant companion. She went fast and trusted me to the end. The Vet. thinks it was very possibly bone cancer. There is now a void felt by everyone who knew her. She was a great dog. Please keep my family in your prayers and thoughts.

Oh, Guido. I don't know what to say. I'm so so sorry. I wish I could do something to ease your pain. You are - all of you - in my heart and thoughts.

If this might help you... I truly believe that if you love someone and keep them in your heart and mind, they're never truly dead. Just not 'here' where we are and live forever in our hearts, mind, and heart.

    I'm so sorry.

I am sorry to hear that. No matter how long they are with us, it's always too short.

Sorry to hear about your loss, I have lost dogs in the past, but can't imagine losing one after that many years. Take care.

Oh Steve, I am so sorry. I know there are no words to help your pain... just know your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you find peace and comfort soon, knowing that she loved you all and lived a great life with you. HUGS.
