I was all ready to go to the same area this morning when it started pouring rain and it was only 60 degrees. By the time it cleared up, it was too late for me to go. Turned out to be a great afternoon 70 degrees.

I didn't bother going around 11 or 12 o'clock because last time I went when there was no sun and 60 degrees, it wasn't worth the trip.

They sure seem to like those rotting (and warm) logs when it's cool out huh?

It never rained out here today, I did see it falling just west of me though. I have to go through the Nature area almost everyday now to catch the train. I've seen them everyday there is any sun breaks it's kinda crazy. I'm sure the big one was an old gal, I don't think males can reach her 3+ feet even with the tip of her tail missing, I've seen her a good 10 times now.

Isn't it kinda funny how nearly every big old female has part of her tail missing? I caught a 3.2 foot old female closer to home recently, and she has a few almost unnoticeable scars on her body, but she has every bit of her original tail. That's rare.

That photo looks like a scene from one of my enclosures. It's got the big ol female, a smaller hypoery male from your area, and a few ordinoides, all piled up and basking. It's like dejavu.
