    Heating

I got one of those zoomed heating pads and I have it hooked up to a thermostat. Unfortunately the heating pad isn't reaching the desired temperature I want it to be at its off 5F or so and I get the snake for the enclosure on Thursday. Would the temperature in my room be an issue or is it the heating pad?

Does it run constantly and never reach the temperature you want? That would suggest the pad just doesn't get hot enough. Where are you measuring the temperature? You always lose a couple degrees going through the glass.

I would try adjusting the thermostat +5 degrees to see if it makes a difference.

The pad is running constantly and the thermostats sensor is found directly beside the thermometer in the cage. I will try that thanks

What size pad is it. The smaller the pad the less heat they produce. You might give ZooMed a call and asked them some questions. They have always had good customer service whenever I've called them.

If I get a new one should I get one graded for 30-40 or 50-60 gallons?

You appear to be very close to reaching the temp you want so why no just go with the next size up.
