    Talking On a dime drop

I've never seen a snakes switch completely in behavior quite the way my Pugets did yesterday. I had bought some feeder fish for them, and dropped them in thier water bowl. After a few seconds I got bored (they weren't even noticing the fish) and I wanted to make sure that they were both eating, so I plucked the fish out of the water and threw them on the floor of the cage. As soon as those fish flopped both snakes stopped running from me immediately and I had to keep them apart so they didn't eat each other trying to get to the fish . Suddenly they were completely unafraid of me. Last time I had to leave the room before they would take the food, which is why I didn't know if they were both eating. I could pick them up but they would squirm out of my hand with thier eye's clearly fixed on the flopping fish! Also I've never seen a snake swallow something that FAST. It was gone within a few seconds. I had a brazilian rainbow boa that used to take ten minutes to swallow something! So I'm about them!

Pugets are WILD about food. It's insane!! Second to the Oregon Red Spotted.
