    Henry Vilas Zoo, Madison, WI

We go to this zoo often, but yesterday's visit prooved to be the most active. Most of the time the animals aren't on display (or at least the days that we go.) Yesterday was a spur of the moment "let's drive an hour to the zoo for the heck of it" kinda thing, and we got some awesome pictures.

    First, the Reptarium:

This picture came out better than expected. This guy is always in the same spot, same position every time we visit.

I wanted to bring him home SOO badly.

The anaconda shots didn't come out as well, but it gets the point across.

    50+ rats, 9 mice, 10 ASFRs, 3 geckos, 4 gerbils, 5 snakes, 3 rabbits, 2 frogs, 2 dogs, 1 opossum, 1 chinchilla, 2 hamsters, 3 water dragons, 1 newt, and 1 fiance'.

Another fella I wanted to bring home:

    "Hey you guys!!"

The giraffes were being extra goofy

The Tapirs were finally out of their hiding spot. It was the first time I had seen them in light, and they put on a running show

    This monkey shot was great:

    The wallaby looked soooooo sad

The very first time I had ever seen a red panda in person

And...we came home with a little "souviner."

The b/f named her Calypso, and she looks ready to pop out some babies any day. She's only about 2 months, so we're hoping the birth goes okay. They'll all be pets, not feeders.
