    thought i'd better say hi

    Hi all
Just found this forum the other day and have been looking around just getting an insight into the people using it. Over all you lot dont seem a bad bunch, so thought i would like to join you all here (if you will have me )
I have kept snakes sinse the early 1980's my first being a red sided garter. I didnt go far with the garters back then, i dont know why they just didnt float my boat much, possably due to the lack of variety back then here in the uk. But last year i saw some origon red sided garters and loved them so much i bought them. It seems now that if i am looking in snakes for sale sites i am only looking out for garters. I now still have the origon red sided plus a pair of northern's and a trio of lake chapala's.

    Welcome to the forum.
Are they the Chapala babies that were up for sale over in the East of the country recently? Too far for me to drive, and I have a pair of Lake Cuitzeo Garters already, but the Chapalas are fantastic looking snakes. Mexican garters are great.

Any ideas as to what your "Northern Garters" actually are? They tend to to be T. sirtarlis parietalis, but occasionally turn out to be radix or T. sirtarlis sirtarlis...

    Welcome.
Here's a link to the forum care sheet.
What are you calling a Northern garter as there is no such garter species.
That name is a label given to them by the shop keeper and a source of aggravation here on the forum.

    Thanks all for the welcome
Yes chris the lake Chapala's are from East Aglia. They are a fantastic bunch of babies, they love there food and grow like weeds. As for the "Northerns" I dont know for sure so have put a picture up on another thread.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.
