Chris if you consider this fun when bored then we have ourselves a serious problem here,.... how about calling up the lads for a few pints and a curry.... or perhaps walking down to the local convent taking off all your clothes and doing a streak,.... you might think about going into a Liverpool bar and shouting i hate scousers any one having with a problem with that step out side .......or and this i think remains your best option a really good psychiatrist

    John,
It is always an education with you.
    "pint and curry"
    "scousers"

I knew what a pint was but the curry through me.
I had no idea what a scouser was.
I am now a smarter more worldly man. Thank you.

If you aren't picky about the curry house you use, that curry really can go through you. :-)

Yeah, you're right. Doesn't rain as much as people think. It rains much more than most people think it does. Besides that, it's not so much the amount of annual rainfall that is so disturbing. It's the number of days per year with measurable rain that makes it so miserable. Sometimes nearly 300 days a year. Whether it's snow or rain in the winter is sometimes just a matter of elevation. Could be raining where you are but if you climb 1000 feet, it's snow. On the Olympic Peninsula, annual rainfall is measured in feet. Some years up to 12 feet a year. It's the wettest place in North America. The Portland/Vancouver metro area gets around 26-32 inches a year usually. That's still a lot of rain. I don't miss it one bit. Where I am now gets around 6-8 inches a year. I can live with that. Over 300 sunny days per year. Today, sunny 72 F.

I wish it would rain more where I am. Well.... After my roof gets fixed... It's collapsing and leaking again... Hah.
The soil here is bone dry all the time... It's usually sunny around here, but sometimes clouds can stay for a few days.

It's been persisting down here most of the day.
Marnie, I lived in Guildford for a couple of years until 2002. It's a nice part of the country, a long way from John's stomping ground in Scouserville though. How long were you living over here?
