Indeed. I just mean, for what I do, I really don't need any more than 4 gigs of it. I'm happy with what I have, though... Not complaining about it.

I just find that even with memory hogging programs open, multiple apps/browser tabs open, etc, that I still rarely have more than 2-3 gigs of ram in use at any given time. The main thing I don't like about 64 bit is that there are a lot of apps I use that will never be updated to work under 64 bit since development of those apps has stopped and there's nothing new to replace them.

I am in the same boat Richard, I have a bunch of software that is XP only, so I deal with what I have.

Well, I haven't had that problem. Most any software I run, even if it was for XP, still runs under Windows 7. 7 is still the same line and same code base (NT/2000/XP). The only problem I seemed to have was with hardware drivers. Some of them that work under XP won't work with 7. Others run just fine using the XP driver. Wait, are you running vista or 7? Vista's a nightmare!

I run XP pro SP3 on 2 machines, win 7 on the two real laptops.

My son has win7 "starter edition" on his little netbook.

I had a Dell once with Vista on it, I formatted it and loaded XP

Did anyone already see this and post somewhere about it? Just stumbled across it. One of the arguments for doing it is "Garter snakes serve as one of the few non-mammalian (and only reptilian) model species for studies of behavior development. Examining aggressive displays and feeding preferences, researchers have shown consistent individual personalities"

Well heck, as garter fans, we've known that all along. We don't need no stinking research to tell us that, now do we?
