It's Red Ants I have a particular problem with.... maybe it's because I've always been a 'herper' and so spend a lot of time flat on the ground... but marauding Red Ants seem to have a particular fascination for the genital area!

I inadvertently dig up so many ant's nests when I'm gardening that I don't even notice anymore when they're frantically climbing up my arms and legs!!
The only time I have a problem is when they decide they want to move indoors -- had a fun time last summer with a bunch who found the cupboard with my baking supplies in it!!
    'Crispy ant' shortbread, anyone???

    Re: The Nature Photography Thread

It's a really nice day here today, in the 60's and sunny, and I took a nice long walk in our woods... hoping to get lucky and see some garters, but alas, it was not to be. I did get some pics tho, so thought I'd drag you all along with me...

Not sure what critter lives here. There were many of these mounds right next to our creek. Any ideas?

    Here's our creek...

This was just a pretty bank shot...

And oops, someone lost their backbone

    Some nice new moss

And some old moss under some old roots
