I don't know how high I would place them on my list. Concinnus is definitely pretty low, probably just above infernalis and tetrataenia. Melanistic easterns somewhere in the middle and cyrtopsis slightly above it.

I have no idea. The duller ones. Some of the sirtalis I've seen on the net have been real beauties, as have most atratus and a few ordinoides. There's one in Strumpfbandnattern that's bloody perfect. Page 157.

Maybe you'd like my maritimes and easterns then. They're dull colored but they have a nice pattern (does that disqualify them?)

edit: Really frustrating. I've been searching the forum all day looking for a certain set of pictures of a (in my humble opinion) god-awful looking garter. I think it was a T. elegans. Very bright colours and a gigantic head. Or did I see it on kingsnake..

I had one that escaped during the move and then turned up dead
it was so upsetting that didn't even want to post about it
I really liked that snake and will want one again some day
