Oh, and if you leave them on the backing plate, that plate is a magnetic shield. The magnetic forces do not penetrate it. In other words, it won't stick on the backing plate side if it's still attached. That's how they're able to be inside the hard drive without erasing the data on the magnetic disks.

So I DON'T want the backing plate. gotcha.

Well, they're hard to remove from the backing plate but for your use, you won't have to. Just use the backing plate side to glue them to your glass and platform.

That is awesome.... so you're suggesting gluing styrofoam to the glass and doing that?
