True, but if you go back and look at what transpired, you'll see that I tried that first. What happened is that the people who were closer to being convinced that they could be wrong, were the first ones to become hostile. I was only using what they gave me to use, to bring them back.

More of a challenge really, that's why I said it wasn't personal. I didn't call anyone names. How was I supposed to know he react so poorly? Now his reaction was personal. I can't help it when people can't make that distinction.

I was really, truly, honestly, hoping that he would come back to defend his position on the subject and prove my statement to be wrong. His reaction is definitely not what I was hoping for. Sorry about that.

And just for the record, it's very difficult to have a meaningful debate without some element of drama. It just can't be avoided. So you would prefer to not have any debate at all, just so you don't have to see any drama, and that would be sad.

You would prefer, "oh look at my snake" and "oh he's pretty" over any meaningful debate about deeper stuff. So you could just stick to those threads and stay out of the deeper ones if you wish.

I have to agree, Rhea. The forum just seems like a hostile, broken up war zone. I wish it was like when I joined. Everyone was helpful, no one was starting arguments, provoking people, etc. That's what kept me coming back. I check the forum a few times a day out of boredom, but the only thing that keeps me posting is my love for garters. I don't feel like posting just to have some nice conversation anymore. I just come here to share the little bit of knowledge that I have. Sometimes it feels like a job posting here. But, for the most part, I enjoy a lot of the people here.
