The shedding lizard is just adorable. He looks like he's unwrapping himself.

Awesome. Is the black one a milk snake? gorgeous. A local man was selling one that was over 8 feet long! yikes! He only wanted $150. I would love to have had it but I just couldn't do it. Too darn big.

Just so you know, there is no such thing as an 8 foot milk snake.

Dude, I saw it. I held it. It was around 8 feet and it was a black milk snake. It was friggen huge. I didn't think they got that big either, until I saw it.

Kinda like this one, only bigger. Everyone also keeps saying Pueblan milks don't get over 3 feet. The one I recently parted with was 4 foot, 2 inches and she was only 6 years old.

Lampropeltis triangulum gaigeae - Black milk snake. RECORD 71 inches.

Black Rat Snake (Elaphe obsoleta) - These do reach 8 feet, they look like a milk snake.

Yup, that's a monster. I don't recall ever seeing one so "dirty" before. The one I had was such a b... well, let's just say she was a PITA and not very nice at all, so it was easy to part with her in trade for a 55 gallon tank for my garters!

Here's some pics of "Jewels" http://www.thamnophis.com/thamphotos...php?photo=7762

BTW, that "black rat snake" was not a rat snake. He had pics of the snake when it was younger and not all black, and pics as it grew up and turned black. Besides that, I know the difference. It was just an exceptionally huge black milk snake. Forget about the record. I keep hearing about age records for garters. I shattered "the record" with my last pair of concinnus so I know for a fact they can live longer than "the record" and I know that black milk snake was longer than "the record". Much longer.

I couldn't hardly believe it. I wish you could have seen that milk for yourself. It was quite impressive.

Don't get me wrong, yes I would have loved to have seen it.

and I know first hand about oddities that "never" happen.

I had a little Storeria Dekayi that ate pinkies. (I have pics)

And I had concinnus that consistently ignored pinkies. Go figure.
