Since a major storm front ripped up about 1/3 of the continental US, anyone else here get any serious damage from it??
The power went out for some time, shutting down my sump pumps, Thankfully I have a gasoline powered pump, we got it hooked up in time to spare the basement any real flooding.

Luckily, my house only got some minor damage..

My poor barn however got demolished by the insane winds... It's going to be strange not having the barn anymore, it's 100+ years old.

Going to try and salvage some of the wood. everything in there was ruined. Thankfully no animals in there to lose.

Not even sure how to safely tear it down now looks far too dangerous to go in and try to recover anything, yet alone take what's left apart.

Maybe. Or perhaps it's the fact that you could smell Snap from a mile away. They do like being up around my face... So it's easy to tell that they smell like

Mama smells like tortilla chips almost all the time.

Yes, it's a chimney, we used to have a wood stove in there when I was young.

we worked on our cars and stuff in there.

I will pull the chimney over with a chain and tractor, then just clean up the broken cinder blocks.

I'm up to my neck in building a far more suitable habitat already

Salvage what I can, and enjoy the unobstructed view of the meadow would be more to my liking.

Was also thinking of using the underground 200 amp service cable to power a few RV hookups for my park. The electric cable was only buried about 10 years ago, and it's all connected, so that idea makes sense too.

My yard, which got hit Saturday by the NC tornado. Read my thread), has over 200 trees down. The barn was crushed, as were a lot of other things.. To put it simply, we no longer live in the woods The only good thing that can come of this is: IT IS NOW A SNAKE HAVEN! Lots of siding, plywood and stuff from the neighborhood behind us is in our yard. Makes good hiding places. And horizontal trees our better snake homes than vertical ones.
