Easy solution, Pinkies right out of the freezer are the consistency of hard ice cream, I chop mine up frozen, don't even get my hands dirty.

the small pieces thaw faster too. so it's a win/win.....

Yeah, that it is by far the best way to go. I do that too. However, there are certain parts that do not retain their cohesiveness once they thaw and so some of your chunks end up being just a section of skin, and a blob of near-liquid.

No matter how you do it, the cut sections must be thawed so you still end up with a "river of blood" or at least a puddle. I don't mind, I just soak it up with "biscuits" of tilapia and feed them that too.

Mmmm.. Mmmm... good stuff. Biscuits of raw fish soaked in rodent blood. Garter snake delight. Yum!

Yeah, that's what I do... But I have xs pinkies, and they thaw almost immediately as i cut them. The brains and guts also get pushed out, which makes me sick. Once I cut the head off one and went to cut that into pieces and a brain like.. substance started coming out of the nose as I pressed the knife on the head... That was sick.

Thaw them, cut them with sharp scissors.

I saw on the news last night that someone started a facebook page for the snake.

Stefan, I use a sharp knife and all of my snakes, including the 2-3 inch, smaller than an eraser babies. Scissors wouldn't work for what I have to do. Trust me, I've tried.

I read this post before my middle school run this morning. I had kids on the bus complaining that they want a facebook page and I couldn't help but laugh to myself that even the snake in NY has a facebook page now!
