    Re: Emily's Snake Thread

    Update and pics

So everybody did very well for the move. I mean it wasn't much of a move, just like 10 minutes away, but a move nonetheless I put each snakey in a little sock and then put them in their containers. I ended up not tying up the socks, because I figured they would be a little nervous and not even want to come out during the ride. Well, Proximus said " 'F' that, I'm checkin out this car ride." He came out and was checkin everything out until I put him back in his cage at the apartment. Baby Virgo stayed in her sock until I got her out. Since we got here(last Thurs.) Virgo ate twice, so that makes 3 times total since I found her Proximus hasn't eaten yet since we got here. I tried feeding him and he ignored it, so I gave it a few days and I'm trying again today. Other than that he's been fine, possibly even more active than at my grandparent's house. Maybe because he just got here and he's still being curious and nosey

    Anyways here's pics from today.

In the second picture, if you look sort of on the side of her body right above my middle finger, you see a little grayish bump thing. She's got a few of them on her body. I didn't notice it when I first found, but she was getting bitten up by fire ants. The ants were latched onto her like ticks. Then a day or two later I saw some grayish spots. Then a few days later they turned into bumps. Now they're going away. Could those be ant bites? I didn't get super concerned, because thats what I assumed they were.

Both look great. Hellooo Proximus. Nice to see more Ribbons on the forum.
Sounds like a reaction to the bites.

She's a Rough Earth Snake (Virginia striatula). They only get to be like 7-10 in. long, so she'll stay small. She's probably about 3-4 in. now.

    Re: Emily's Snake Thread

So....Surprise! Proximus is in blue phase again. I'm confused His first shed was in May(the first one with me). Then didn't shed again for 3 months, so I assumed(after asking yall) that he's just about done growing, and that he'll probably only shed every 3 or so months. Well now he's ready to shed again. I woke up this morning and found him in pretty much the same spot he was in last night. I got home and fed him, and still had barely moved. I got him out a minute ago, because I was worried he was getting sick. Nope, just shedding again. He's ready to be a big man

Sometimes when my snakes go into opaque phase it worries me, beacuse I won't see them at all for like 2-3 days. They will stay under the substrate or in a cardboard for days without me seeing them. I start thinking did they escape, did one eat the other or maybe he's under the substrate dead :3

    **And now,Introducing: Tallie**

Here is my new little girl from Steve, Tallie. Born in March this year. My little female albino Red Sided Garter(Thamnophis sirtalis parietalis). Named Tallie, from her scientific name parietalis.
    Here's her little setup:

And here's the baby She's so tiny and adorable!
    PA230018.jpg PA230024.jpg PA230028 (2).jpg

I offered a worm piece, but she wasn't super interested. Currently she's checking out her whole tank. Up and down and inside of this and around that, just exploring everything, multiple times She seems to be enjoying herself
