Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh

    any cat help appreciated
Mikhaila is upstairs sobbing because I've finally decided Tundra is just not going to work out and we have to find another home for him
he's beautiful and a great cat in every way, except he has no cat social skills and apparently he is intimidating to cats twice his size
both of our other cats have been holed up in the bathroom and they got sick because of depressed immune functioning from the stress - I really want them back on the couch where they belong
it is really upsetting and I never thought that it could be so bad that I'd have to give up on an animal, but I've not been well and Mikhaila is going through changes that are making her more prone to emotional outbursts, and frankly early this morning I briefly thought that death seems kind of peaceful - at least one does not have to get up in the morning and do all this work - man am I tired
and if there's anyone here that has ideas as to how we can make this cat situation still work, please do come forward and do your magic

That is a tough decision Rhea. I think that it may indeed be wise to find Tundra a new home. You tried your best to make things work. It sounds like the whole situation is very stressful and not just for the cats. You are going to need your strength for helping Mikhaila through this stage of life and that can be tough when you are not feeling well, let alone dealing with pet issues. I pray that everything works out well for you.

It's a tough one ... we had a similar problem when we took on an extra cat last year ... our old cat didn't take to her at all and was avoiding us etc ... in the end the new cat had to go ... it was worth it just to get Phoebe back to normal!!!

had a similar situation....brought in a new cat....started attacking my other cat Tripod....she was a highly stressed cat anyway, didn't like other cats or dogs. tolerated them at best. but when the other one got to attacking her, she wouldn't go downstairs to use the litter box. ended up finding the new cat a new home. not an easy thing to do....real easy to get attached to cats (yes, I am a cat person!!) but better for the other cats in the long run. there will be more cats later if you want another, and quite possibly one that will get along great with your cats!!!!

Rhea, sounds like you're pretty overwhelmed right now. Sorry to hear about all the stress and aggravation. It's a really hard decision to make, but I know you'll pull through. Best wishes to you and Mikhaila. I'll be thinking of you.

    thanks guys
at this time it looks like Tundra will stay after all
I had a long talk today with a cat behaviourist
it was free too - she's a volunteer for an organization that helps with cat problems
anyway - she said the situation wasn't that bad (not much blood) and that it could normalize pretty soon, if we follow certain guidelines
first of all - the Tundra is indisputably the alpha cat and the sooner we get used to it and treat him accordingly, the sooner he can quit asserting himself
    and a few other things . . .
she assured me that we'd be surprised how fast things would turn around
    let's hope so

so.... I watched Friday the 13th for the first time ever last night

and I STILL cannot get the scene with the snake out of my head.
    I want to vomit!
I have no doubt in my mind that they ACTUALLY killed that snake for that scene. I am BEYOND disgusted and annoyed.
Not that in ANY case it would ever be alright BUT what makes it WORSE is that they COMPLETELY DID NOT need that scene in the movie WHATSOEVER, as it did not pertain to ANYTHING important or plot forming.
Its like they just threw that in there just to kill a snake on film.

Has anyone else seen this movie and been revolted by this?
Ive been looking for info on it to see if it actually had to happen for them to film it. Im almost positive it was real.

....just venting lol and feel that little snake deserves a thread made about him because clearly no one cared at all about it's life whatsoever.
Its a shame they could do that back then without having problems

    Rest in peace black snakey!

Haven't seen the movie and doubt they actually killed a snake. The producers know that would only hurt the movie. Groups out there would cause such a stink. Those groups don't want any animals killed or emotionally disturbed.
With all the digital magic they don't need to actually do it.

Check the movie credits. It is probably PETA approved!

I watched the whole movie on fast-forward, so I guess I missed that scene.
