I use it- basically its good to keep up to date with relatives a bit more. I dont post much, just read the friends updates to see whats new.
The usefulness of facebook depends largely on how well all your friends use it. If they regularly post informative updates, it can really serve a good purpose. But, If all you get is a bunch of people updating you that they are home from work, or tired from work, or watching tv... then its pretty much a waste of time.

I have a myspace, and i like it way better than facebook... I have a facebook... somewhere.... but I hated the darned thing! myspace is the way to be for me!!
