I enjoy the box turtle also, about a year ago I had caught a wild one while visiting in Va. Kept him for about a month, fed him and gave him a good home then returned him to where he was originally caught. He was a young southern box. What a appetite! He did really well.

This is Pershing a male Chelydra serpentina - Common Snapping Turtle. He was rehomed to us as his former family was afraid of him. Pershing has begun some basic training to be social. The biggest problem is his very aggressive eating response, he doesn't care if it's food or my hand. I can see in his eyes that he's still unsure of his situation. Time will tell to what degree he will settle in.

lol, Tommy, that's southwestern Canada. Northwestern Canada is tundra and polar bears

I only watched the first 5 min, but he had T. ordinoides and T. s. fitchi, what he called red sided gartersnakes. Infernalis doesn't make it into Canada, but Puget's do (to the best of my understanding, my Reptiles of BC book is at home)

ah; that still isn't an infernalis; it would be a nice looking fitchi. Look at the ranges and remember there is huge colour diversity; I've seen pictures of pickeringi with red's; just not that bold.
