I do need to retrain my cat consciousness, because those guys are trouble
before we got them, we'd been cat-less for almost a year and the cats that we'd had were old and indifferent to other critters, so we're just not used to anything any more

Our Janosch had just been waiting for a chance to get his teeth into one of ours. I couldn't change the water without him watching intently.
My only little "trost" was the fact that he was sick as a parrot when he was there to welcome my sad little escapee. Couldn't talk to him for a few days. Instinct or not, the sight was too horrid for me to forgive him 5 minutes later.
