    glad it turned out okay
what was the guy hunting for, anyway?
I mean - would you have ended up with a bullet, or a spray of buck shot?

I'm glad you're ok, Shanley, and so is your dog. I don't know about the hunters in your area, but the idiots out here tend to think of hunting season as one big beer-in-the-woods party, and they shoot at anything that moves. So please do stay away and safe until after hunting season!!!

Ugh... I ran into the reptile show today looking for a mate for my barking tree frog.
I saw one set of garters; tiny, tiny, TINY checkereds. $25 for norms and $35 for albinos.
    They looked... not living. Ugh.
Maybe when I get my babies this spring I'll show them the true capability of garters...

I've learned over the past few years that it is important to know if the land you go herping or hiking on is used by hunters. If so, you need to ask around and find out what the popular hunting seasons are and plan around them, or go somewhere else. Most hunters are very safe, but its still not a good time to go hiking in those areas.
One of my favorite hiking spost is usually pretty empty, but opening weeks of deer and turkey seasons are a bad time to go.

That's sad. Last show I went into I picked up:
    Texas Brown Snake

Hypo Reverse Stripe Carrot Tail Poss Eclipse (has some splotches touching around his pupil on one eye, could be eclipse, maybe not...), Het for Emerald/Emerine Leopard Gecko from the Trempers

Trio of Mad Hissing Roaches (ICK!)

"Non Feeding" Desert Patchnose that has eaten two anoles for me already

Adult Male TX Rat Snake in exchange for babies next season
and... I think thats it. It was a pretty big show and NO GARTERS!!!!!

But I picked up a craigslist checkered after the show so I lived.

Lol!! I know, I know. It's actually pretty simple. But it sure is a mouthful anyways. I have all normals in my collection except for my leopard geckos.
