Tomorrow is the Richmond Reptile expo. I skipped the spring one because I knew I'd come home with something and didn't feel ready.

    I'm ready. LOL

It's Jamie's birthday, too, but not only is he sending me off alone to the expo--- he gave me 1/2 his poker winnings from last night!!! Whooooo hoooooo I'm going un-attended to the expo with cold cash!!!!!!

I had a look at Drache earlier and part of me thinks he'd get better faster, if I cleaned those holes out every day, but I'm just not up for it, and the vet said every other day is fine, because that's how often he gets the oral meds, and after all - it's pretty stressful for him too
I bet, if I asked him, he'd not be up for it either
my garters are all doing well
sorry - nothing more entertaining than that
if you're really bored, Stefan, I could pm you some gross pics of Drache's left side
Dull and boring is good sometimes. Particularly after a big stress... Happy to hear not much going at the moment! You can settle in and just enjoy the snakes.

Didn't know you did rescue, too. We've some very special people here!

Stefan, I think you were born with a microscope in your eye... It seems to me you know more science stuff than men double your age.

Speaking o'which... Just saw on PBS last nite about Hugh Everret (I think I spelled that right). Genuis in quatum physics - parallel universes. His son, some rock star, can't add any better than I can! Funny how genetics are or aren't.

Hugh had his theory at like 24 and was telling some guy by the name of Bols or Bowls or something like that, "with the hubris of youth," that the Bols guy was not correct (sighting of a photon affects it's movement... Coopenhagen Theory) and couldn't understand why this old coot wasn't just thrilled with his 'discovery.'

Was very fascinating and while I know squat about quantum physics I really did enjoy the program.

I only know the absolute basics and a few pieces of trivia.

Genetics play a (minor) part, but you also need to "practice". The more you solve a certain type of problems, the better you get at it.

I don't really do rescue - just fostering and adopting
let's say - I'm friends with the rescue
    it's quite selfish - really
it's like I get to test drive animals - even some I'd never be legally permitted to keep and some I wouldn't want to keep myself
and it's nice to bring them back to the rescue all healthy looking
sometimes they do stick to me
like Bonsai, the 20+ year old corn snake with cataracts; he's got a home with me until someone adopts him, which he isn't a great candidate for
I can just give him a little more space than the rescue can, and he does feel a little less supple than a younger snake . . .

Awwww. That's what I would want to do: take in the old snakes that no-one else wants!! I always go for the old, decrepit critters...
