Now we can have a party.

    *Note to self*

Don't go to bed unless you've put your snapping turtle to bed first.

I haven't felt well the last couple of days(sinus infection) so this evening I decided to go to bed a couple hours early. I hoped Tank would put himself to bed. I was wrong.
Just as I was almost asleep my daughter Hailee came into my room. She said "Tank won't listen to us and refuses to go to bed. He just keeps wondering around."
I went upstairs and told tank it was bedtime. I put him in his bed and he made himself comfortable. Within a few moments he was asleep.
Just more evidence that Tank has bonded with me. I'm certainly not complaining but this isn't even close to normal behavior for a snapping turtle.
Sleep well my good and faithful turtle.

If you keep enough animals you learn that there are special cases for every species and there's a lot more to most animals than we think. I've been lucky enough to know a few very special animals and it does make you wonder about things.

The first four pics are of the normal 'Fancy' Tan breed. They come in four colours only. Black/tan, Blue/Tan, Choc/Tan & Lilac/Tan. weight wisw they should ideally be around the 4.5lb mark for an adult. They have a big following both here in the UK and USA where the hobby of breeding ans showing Rabbits is massive, with huge conventions being held in the various states. The other is one of the Lops varieties. My partner breeds and show German lops which are a fair size weighing in at around 8lb average weight again for adults. They also come in many colours. The one pictured is an Agouti (The blue print for all other colours). Rabbits are categorized at shows into Fur & Rex ( Rex have a plush velvet coat ), Fancy & Lops. Each section has it's own Judge. the best from each section go head to head for Best in Show. The section Judges must agree or an independent person who is a qualified judge will be call to make the final decision.
