Here's my boy Midnite getting a Ranch privilege. Once in awhile I'll take a snake over to the worm box and let them get their own meal.
Midnite wasted no time at all downing a few big night crawlers. Once back in the enclosure he got a lot of attention.

lucky little snake, mine don't have that privilege. I have a couple giant night crawlers that I keep for breeding. I know Snakey would go for the huge ones. He always tries eating the night crawlers I grab for Mama and ends up having them crawl out of his mouth. They're almost bigger than him!

I buy 500 at a time. Keeps it economical and there's alway plenty of worms for my kids. I mean my snake kids.
I usually harvest worms from my backyard. I would estimate I take 3-4 thousand night crawlers a season. This year I've taken none.
Should be a good recovery year for the worms. Next year I'll be back out harvesting.

We don't have any worms here, dry as a bone. I buy them from bait shops and keep them in a container. I've been finding babies in there which I use for runt since he cant have the larger ones. We're needing to buy a new container because we have about 30 in there now and its only half a foot long. It's expensive to keep buying them, so its easier to breed them.

I found this beautiful little lady under the same hide as last time. She likes the talk grass area I have out back.
The last time I found her she was in opaque phase. She a great looking female. I put her back and hope to see her again.
