Not entirely sure on the cucumber bit, but...
For my lobster roaches, seeing as it would be impossible to mist the entire enclosure, I use hermit crab water pillows. Work fine.
For water, I include veggies and fruits, but all my roaches that are in ventilated sterilite bins get a misting every night before bed. My other species have humidity holding substrates, so I only mist when I do my routine weekly checkup. As for tolerance, most feeder roaches are very tolerate of lack of water. However, if you have winged species, expecially E. posticus, the lack of water makes them chew off each other's wings for moisture.

Ok, I finally got around to downloading all my photos

Here's a pic of the roaches. I've got them in tank now. I picked them up in this critter cage thingy but it was WAY too small for all of them and their largeness...

I'm going to trade some of them for some dubias (sp?) soon. I really want to get away from keeping crickets - they're so stinky, even with my sand for substrate trick.
