Not ugly, just nude. Most things are not attractive when nude, but once the spines come in it'll be a cutie.

Spiny anteater! Wow, they can get up to 30" long and 22#, depending on the species. You'd need a pretty big ant farm to keep one fed!

Worst case scenario, you might need a pretty big ant farm with the right ant species.

I was talking with my neighbor yesterday (she has Cope's Gray Tree frogs) how much I miss my toads (7) since they have gone underground and that I need an amphibian fix. Well this morning he must have sensed this, Rufus came up, soaked, shed, ate some roaches, hung out for about 2 hours then went back down. Short visit but it made my day.

    Meet my Rufus (claus) :

Would a good soaking "rain" and cool down bring the toads out? I know that when I lived in Reno, you would almost never see a toad. But in the fall after a good soaking rain, thousands of them would come out near the banks of the Truckee river and start hopping around the streets of downtown Reno!

You can heavy soak the substrate to bring them top side, but it stresses them out when they aren't ready. I can wait the few months.........maybe.

Re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

Thought this was worth sharing. I aquired a group of tailless whip scorpions(Damon diadema), one of which happened to be carrying an eggsack. Here is a picture of the female the day that the scorplings emerged. They held on to her back for about a week.

Last night, the babies moulted and detatched from their mother's back. You can see the clump of moults attatched to mom. The little guys are scattered around the cork bark.
