OK. I can visualise what you're looking at when you talk about your big radix girls now - Adora is 235g.

    Re: Ranch News

Checking on speckle today I saw a reoccurring welcome sight. Normal feces.
After 6 months of black/bloody messes it's nice to see her system returning to normal.
After changing her paper towels she enjoyed 6 nice large night crawlers. I even gave her a couple small pieces of turkey heart to add to the mix.
She's out of opaque (shedding phase) phase so shedding should be within the next couple of days.
I'll post a new photo of this phoenix then.

Speckle shed today and what a motley looking shed it was. She's in a warm shed box as I type.

Just removed a perfectly shed Speckle from the box. She is such a gorgeous snake. I hope the temps are warm enough for me to get her outside for a photo shoot tomorrow. Her vent looks almost back to normal and the weight she lost is coming back. Speckle is an awesome T.radix.

    Re: Ranch News

More good news to report on Speckle.
She met me at the screen this morning and it wasn't to say hello. This girl wanted some food and she got it. Been over 6 months since she's been actively seeking out food. When I couldn't shovel the worms in fast enough she gave me a couple false strikes(good to see).
After 8 large night crawlers she was content.
Check out photo#2, I asked her how many worms she wanted? There's her answer.
After she was done eating she tried to make a heart to say thanks or it's a noose for not feeding more
I'm excited to have new birth on the Ranch this year but getting my Speckle back is the best feeling.

Since Flagyl (Metronidazole) eliminates good and bad intestinal bacteria I've started administering Ben-Bac + to help replace the good bacterial flora that was killed.
Just another part of a hopefully complete recovery for Speckle.
I smile everyday I see her. She's a special snake.

Great to hear she is on the mend. She makes great, beautiful babies, I'm really enjoying Sierra and I'm so glad that Mama is doing so well now.

    Re: Ranch News

Speckle was out cruising her paddock this morning. When she saw me she rushed the screen and demanded food.
Not to let her set a bad example to the rest of the snakes(because I know they were all watching) I gave her a stern look and said
"I'll get your food right away"

She enjoyed 7 large night crawlers while a change some paper towels.
