Today was a very good day as we had a visit from a forum member and her husband. It was a pleasure having ChareiHeals (Kelsey) and her husband Matt here.
First up was meeting Tank, after that a visit to the snake room and later a nice lunch (Bacon wrapped turkey filets, salad, potatoes, asparagus w/bacon and brownies for dessert)
I want to thank Kelsey and Matt for coming by. The door is always open at the Ranch for you.
Any forum members that find themselves in the area feel free to stop by.

He was curious at first. Then just relaxed. As they were leaving Tank came out and went to bed under the bookcase.

Steve, First off I want to thank you and your family so much for letting us come invade your territory and give us a nice break from driving! We had so much fun meeting Tank, your kids, and all your garters (even if one did try to take off my finger, lol). Also, thank you for feeding us, the food was amazing. We found ourselves talking about the Ranch for a very long time while we were on the road.
Second, thank you for the babies and all of the extras! We finally got home and got the 3 girls settled in their new enclosure, and the little red-sided girl was the first to eat. So far, the little Radix is being called T.Rad, until we can come up with a better name for her. The albino red-sided is being called Crescent Moon, because while we were driving, Matt noticed she has little white cresents in her iris'. The albino checkered doesn't have a name just yet, we haven't really seen much of her personality shine through yet. I'll try and get some pictures up of them soon, we're giving them time to settle in and get accustomed to their house.

Thank you again, we will definitely let you know if we ever end up in that neighborhood again! I want to see those babies from your gravid girl!

Speckle continues to improve. Slowly thought. She did have a big day in the eating dept. today. She downed 10 large night crawlers and wanted more.
I hope her recovery continues even though it's at a snail's pace.

I found a 4 pound pack of turkey hearts in the back of the freezer. Tonight, they were thawed so I made up some small packages for freezing and also served some out to the savages. The male and female T.s.concinnus (Red-spotted garter snake) went crazy for them. My anery male who is usually a picky eater was fighting all the other males for more food. Even myT.s.parietalis (Red Sided Garter Snake) girl were crazy about it.
MyT. e. scotti (Scott's Garter Snake) and T.s.sirtalis "Flames" also enjoyed their first turkey hearts.
I luckily still have all my fingers.

Speckles eating is off the wall. Her stools are still loose but the blood is greatly reduced. She gets one more dose of meds. Thursday, then it's back to the vet. for more evaluations.

Checking her latest BM (in the last 30 minutes) I saw no blood in the feces. She is also getting some of that girth back. Great news.
