Great pic Gail! It's funny how they all go to the same spots.

Hangin' out with Jewel's. She seems very content to just wrap around my neck while cleaning the house or watching TV. She's such a good friend to have around, but so is the rest of the gang.

    Awww!
Try loosely banding your hair in a low ponytail. My snakes feel more secure when they can thread themselves through my hair or a piece of clothing like a scarf.

I think I'll stick with the neck wrap, just in case she decides to do her business. Much easier to just change clothes and quick washing than having to wash hair.

Jewels hanging out in the moist moss dish. My girls prefer to use an open dish w/moist moss than one of the closed in ones. Hey, what ever works for them.

It's been almost one year since I became a keeper of the Thamnophis, but it seems like they have always been a part of my life. I love these critters.

Awww, such a dear little face!
I think I started using the closed moist hides in the winter, to trap in the humidity. An open moss dish dries out pretty fast in my house.
Yours is pretty- I may try offering them open 'bogs' this summer.

I had to go bigger on the moss dish, got the biggest dish I could find. I just mist this heavily every other day to keep it moist but not soggy.

I use either ice-cream tubs, or spreadable butter tubs for my moss hides. A couple of these have been coated with grout and stone-effect paint to make them look less like litter. I found that the times I used open moss bowls it ended up scattered around the viv.

I find little pieces here and there, but nothing major.

Since it's warmed up here in NC, I decided to get the girls a pool, a.k.a. large water dish. Jewels really seems to enjoy it, seen her completely submerged in it but still not sure if Mona & Sadie appreciate it. Had to take the moist hide out since the pool takes up so much room. Might just try to rearrange their home this weekend.
