When I first got the allotment it was neglected and overgrown... and had been used to dump loads of rubbish.

    I had to fell trees.

Then clear the debris and start creating a fence-line.

The fence was a massive task.

Then I started on the greenhouse.

I built a nice little toilet for Molly!

There is still a lot of work to do.... it's a bit of a life long project, but it keeps me from getting bored!

I've barely scratched the surface yet... there is just SO MUCH rubbish on there!
The pond will be a butyl liner, deep in the centre gradually shallowing into an area of bog garden.... easy amphibian access! Loads of natural planting and dense cover to attract the wildlife.

Nice allotment! How much land is in the allotment? It looks like decent sized area. The improvements look great.

Thank you LeAnn, in a few more years it will be really lovely.
It's 120ft long by 80ft wide.... so not huge but big enough to keep me busy for a good while.

I love ponds. Right now all I have is a 300 gallon Rubbermaid livestock tank sunk in the yard with a small waterfall, some koi, a few waterlilies, etc. Someday I hope to make a larger pond with a butyl liner.....

I'm not looking forward to the digging, or trying to get rid of the spoil. Anybody want to buy 50 tons of clay?
