Re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

I'm convinced my cat is part dog... she greets me at the door and sleeps with (usually on) me at night. She'll even come when called.

Most cats are kinda "meh" but every now and then you find a really cool one.

I know i don't favor hybrids either but that is about the only way to keep any exotic cats here in the states by law without special permits. At least they are half exotic bengals are bred from asian leopards and savannahs are bred from african servals.

Talking Re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

Introducing Rex, My not so normal Chinese Water Dragon.

I've had him just over a year now (I didn't name him, too stereotypical for me).

Well here he is, you can see a little of his left eye here:

He's my special guy, and takes a little more care than most of my animals. He doesn't look his handsome self right now due to him being in the middle of shedding. When I got him he was in a 36x18x18 wooden vivarium, with a heat lamp pretty much balanced on his head. He is just over two foot long himself (don't think the previous owner quite knew how much they grew or how quickly. In fact I'm pretty sure he knew absolutely nothing about them. He probably only put a little water in with him as he's called a water dragon).

Here is his right eye, and his right lower jaw. It doesn't seem to bother him (and its a little messy as he just ate). His eye is the bigger issue. Both his eyes are like this, and it does affect his feeding although he id getting more used to it. Tonight while he was chilling out on the arm of my sofa, he quickly turned and managed to eat a small moth that landed next to him. This is pretty much the only time he has been able to feed himself without being made aware of the food first. Normally I hand feed him with tongs which are rubber tipped.

And last but not least here is his left wrist. Its pretty much always at this funny angle. Again it doesn't bother him and he gets around just fine. I'm not sure what caused it, whether it was a fall or from living in very cramped quarters when he was growing.

He really is my special little guy. He lets me know when he's hungry, and will quite happily bask on my sofa under a heat lamp. He may be disfigured but he really is still awesome and I could never give him up, no matter how much more work he is.
