I have a mild phobia of insects. I have since a kid when a "water skipper" was in my "kiddie pool" and stung me 3 times. It looked like a beetle connected to boat oars. I also ate 3 beetles when I was a kid, mistaking them for chips.. which were in my other hand. My family wont let me forget that one.

I honestly never used to let my roaches walk on me, until I saw pictures of women doing it.. so I had to, and it's not really that bad.

It still grosses me out when my little gecko eats them, he squishes them first, it's nasty.

I just noticed, in two months this thread will be three years old.

A friend showed me her tokay gecko eating a pinky. He ripped out the stomach and ate the insides, then proceeded to toss it around the tank, smearing blood around it. It was gross. I cant imagine a one squishing cockroaches. Ick.

Happy early birthday to the thread

Aww, how sweet . They always look so innocent and docile in the stores... It'd be a shock to see one acting so predatory!

And to think of all the effort I went through to get rid of roaches in the past. I'm sorry but I don't see them as anything more than filthy pests or perhaps filthy pests and lizard/frog food.

Interesting fact... of all the species of roaches on the planet only Less than 1% are pests, 99%+ survive indoors only as pets.

And I'm 100% sure they won't be surviving in my house.

I know, I'm strange... I have rats, mice, snakes, lizards, Worms & roaches, to some people all or any of the above means calling the exterminator.
