Honestly, I have no idea if that's true or not, but they're part of the weasel family. Why wouldn't they? Regardless I've always been curious about them. Illegal to own here, but seem like they'd be a fun pet Busy, busy, busy, little critters!
ferrets are cool, and yes they eat snakes.

I once fell for a boa named Vader who had been left in the same enclosure with a ferrit, and survived.

Vader was messed for life by it.

The idiot who did this was trying to feed the ferrit to the boa

ROFL!!!! SO bad!!!! And yes, they do eat snakes.... And also frogs, mice, rabbits, birds... actually, they pretty much eat what our snakes eat from what I've learned in my reading!! They are total carnivores. Which is one of my questions... any reason a ferret couldn't be on a f/t mouse/bird diet?? I offered this little girl a f/t pinky last night but of course she had no clue. So I want to find out about that. The processed foods contain a lot of grains and they just don't need that.

They sure are clowns... she is a master acrobat and is constantly busy, busy, busy!!! Bounces and jumps and rolls and twists all over... and her and one of my pugs, Cooper, have bonded like mad. It's really pretty funny.

I just want to learn all about them before trying to find her a home, so I know what kind of home to look for. Right now I'm not even keeping her in a cage as she's litter box trained... and she'd been locked in a tiny, tiny rabbit cage for the last 6 months without ever coming out, so she needs to run off that energy!!

Sean says there's commercial ferret food, but dry kitten food will work (higher in protein than cat food)
oh - and to keep it away from your snakes

What a question for a snake site
Sorry, I only know them as smelly funny acrobats that are able to make a lot of work.
Do you´ll keep them indoor or outside, Lori?

Udo, she is inside in my extra bedroom. And yes, she smells funky!!! LOL I guess you get used to it after a while. I was just trying to see if anyone on here had lots of experience and wanted to pm with me about them.

Rhea, yeah, I have the ferret food... but I always like to supplement with more natural things. Thanks SO much for asking Sean for me!!

ferrets are loved pets here too, you can find specialized German HP´s for "Frettchen" and I think at all there is an association for ferret keepers as well

Ferrets are among the few non-reptilian animals I could consider keeping for purposes other than consumption.

    It must be the smell...

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.
