It's actually been over for a while, too, I just got busy here at work and couldn't get on to tell you. After looking him over more closely (after he was dead) and cleaning away clotted blood, we found that both of his eyes were out of socket too. :-( It was the right thing to do.

    Awww, poor guy...........
I always feel sad when I hear stuff like this. I'm so glad Stefan found the info to make it easier for both you and the turtle.

Glad you were the one to find it, Lori and humanely ends its suffering. I went out last night after a rain and found four Eastern Box Turtles. The first was a young one that had been hit and had sever damage. I had to finish it then and there. The other three were OK, just moved them well out of the road.

    Congratulations again.

Meh, I keep getting phone calls from complete nitwits (at work) and I can't tell them to gently insert a pineapple in an orifice of their choosing.

Ooooh that little chameleon is so darling, and he looks like he has quite an attitude!!

Stefan... lol... we have a little picture of a Colt 45 that we pass to each other at the office while those nitwits (the same ones must be calling us, lol) are on the phone with us. Then we can pretend to shoot them repeatedly. Good stress reliever. Please note, Stefan, it is a PICTURE we have. You may not bring your real firepower to work. LOL

Woo Hoo - other turtle nuts

Ever have turtles whiz all over the inside of your car, trying to get them to a better place than in the middle of the road?

How about big snappers?? now there is some fun! My silly son has told more than a few people how daddy "saves turtles with his hammer" then I get stuck trying to explain I only use the handle to let the snapper bite down on it so I can drag his pre-historic Jurassic looking butt to the side of the road.

Motorists laying on horns as we run out into 6 lanes of expressway to get the turtle out of the road
