Re: Emily's Snake Thread
Can anyone explain why it does this? Is it, once the old skin starts to seperate from underneath that it cleats up, then comes off?

Its because the fluid that separates the two layers of of skin sets clear.

Re: Emily's Snake Thread
He did it! He did it! He finally shed again
I got him out this morning, to see what he was doing and found him like this:
Shed 9-2-12.jpg
So I got that pic, and put him back up. Looked over about 20-30 minutes later and he was done!

So there is his shed, and his new pretty skin pics
Now he's huuungry, so he's going to eat today, and I'm going to try and give him a night crawler. He hasn't had any night crawlers yet, but I think today is a good day to try it Going to give it with some fish, worked with no problem with the pinkies.

Wipe the head of the night crawler with the fish. Then offer it up.
Sweet proximus.

This is what I'll have to do next time...I sort of thought of that, but figured he would eat it with the fish in his water. Welllllllll, he didn't I don't know if it was able to crawl out on it's own or if he pulled it out, but I found it still alive on the paper towel, so I put it outside. Since it was in the water for so long I didn't know if it still might die, so I didn't want to put it back in the worm container. He ate a couple of fish. I guess he wasn't as ravenously hungry as I assumed he was

Re: Emily's Snake Thread
Does any one think if Proximus hasn't grown in a little over 3 months, that he's done growing?

Re: Emily's Snake Thread
Snakes continuously grow throughout their lives, but as adults their growing drastically slows down. You posted in another thread that Proximus is 21 inches, that seems to be around the average size for adult ribbons. I don't think he will get much longer and don't be surprised if he only sheds every 2-3 months.
