Just ask! I'm well upto date with our british wildlife.. Mammals, Birds, Fish, reptiles etc.... Not to hot on inverts and plants though! If in doubt, Ask!

We went hiking again today. The kids are all here for spring break and I had the day off. We packed a lunch and lots of water. Bill built a camp fire at the top of the trail and we found some really cool stuff. No snakes yet, but it still gets pretty cold at night. Here is what we did find.

First up, Rana aurora (Northern Red-legged Frog) A really big one!!



Next we have a Taricha granulosa ( Rough-skinned Newts) These guys are sooooo cute!!





And lastly the view point, I love Washington!

Yes...great pics...and beautiful children. I so wish that my son was more into herps. He stands outside throwing baseballs while I look for snakes! Yesterday he and his dad were outside playing ball and I was looking for snakes...I could hear them talking...his dad was saying.."What is your mom doing in the bushes?", and my son was like.."Looking for snakes again! *Sigh*....". Lol...

We all had a great time! Bill and I both try to instill respect, not fear, for nature and all it's creatures in the kids.
