    yeah, skip the cigar

Mikhaila wanted me to let you know that the rat snake bit her
I wasn't there when it happened, so I have no idea what spooked the snake
the bite marks look impressive and Mikhaila is quite proud of it
sorry - no pics; maybe tomorrow

well guys just wanted to give a little update on my similis, I started out with 4 babies and over the months I lost 2, which were noted at those times......but the 2 I have left seem to be doing great and I'm pretty sure I have a pair here........so I do believe they will be ready to mate next season, so as long as everything go well I'll have some babies next year...
just wanted to give an update on them and pics will follow soon.....

I went to a known Adder site in North Wales, in the company of the North Wales reptile and amphibian 'recorder'. The weather was all wrong, very high winds, a bit too cool, occassional drizzle. But despite all this we found 0.1 Vipera berus (gravid and full of food), 0.5 Zootica vivipara and 0.0.4 Bufo bufo... Result!

The Adder photo is utter rubbish as I only had a brief moment to fire off one shot before she moved away into the undergrowth (I didn't want to stress her in her 'condition')... but I'm posting it anyway!

    Congratulations James.
Hopefully we will find some this weekend xxx
